We spoke to about 35 people throughout the day and most people agreed with the priority areas and objectives! Good stuff. As well as talking through the framework with people we were also looking at pictures of what the area used to look like from photographs from the 1920s-1950s. These were kindly shared with us by the fantastic historians at Valence House, what a fantastic resource for the area. It was inspiring to look at these and discuss what we liked about these pictures and how these elements could be incorporated into DIY Porter’s Lodge going forward…. What do you think? There will be more on this soon.
Do you have any old pictures you would like to share with your neighbours, street or community?
On Saturday we also officially launched the bike parking in Porter’s Avenue which people had already started to use and enjoy. So don’t forget your bike when you next pop down to the shops!
